The Badminton club Almere is the oldest Badminton association in Almere and also the most multi-purpose. It is possible to play Badminton every day, not only in the evening but also at daytime. You can play at any level, from novice to the most accomplished player. Moreover the BVA has it's own building, Sportcomplex de Toekomstgroep, in the Parkwijk, Almere. We have many facilities, such as a sauna, Fitness, classses and our own canteen.

Recreative players

On Monday -, Wednesday - and Friday evening as from 20.00 it's Recreative Player time. Then the recreative players can play badminton in Sportcomplex de Toekomstgroep. Under the guidance of expert coaches training is given in a relaxed way. Also a number of tournaments (at which fun is the most important ingredient) can be played. Participation in the internal and external recreative competition is also possible. There are no obligations, anything is possible. With approximately 250 recreant members it is the largest group within BV Almere.

Badminton by day

It's possible at BV Almere to play badminton at day time. This is available on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. You can play under the guidance of the well known trainer/coach Roy Calbo. Tuesday afternoon is very popular with the under 55s. Wednesday morning is attended by all age categories. Both on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning give a very sociable ambiance in the Sportshall.

Youth

BV Almere is also known for its excellent youth training. The Club has already produced a lot of national Dutch youth champions and even European youth champions. Enjoyment in playing badminton however is always first priority for the 250 youth members. The Youth board organises lots of events annually such as a Pepernotentournament, an end year tournament, a Parent-Child tournament etc. BV Almere enters 20 youth teams to the youth competition of the district Noord-Holland South and is usually very successful. The BV Almere youth 1st team were champions of The Netherlands last season, a title which has ,in the past, been won three times by BV Almere.

Competition players

With 11 teams BV Almere takes part in the district competition of the district Noord-Holland South. BV Almere plays in all classes of the district, varied from the top level to level four. BV Almere is also represented by two teams in the regional men leaugue. Beside the district competition BV Almere has four teams at the highest Badminton level, namely the National Leagues. One team in the third division, two teams in the second division and a team in the Premier Division, the so called Big Boss Liga.

Team 1

Team 1, sport team of the city Almere in the year 2000 and is the Flagship for the association. Moreover it is a very young team, which has played in the previous years with a nearly unchanged line up and has managed to get into the Big Boss Liga. A unique performance for the badminton players in which they are one of the Almere sport teams which play at the highest possible level. So they are can be mentioned in the same arena as VC Omniworld, BC Omniworld and the Baseball players of Almere 90. The successful Almere team consists of Donovan Cuntapay (26 yrs), Joeri Kraaijestein (29 yrs), Claudia Saleming (23 yrs), Erik Staats (23 yrs), Viona Utama (20 yrs) and Maartje Verheul (21 yrs). So if you want to see the top-players for yourself, you are invited to visit the Sportcomplex De Toekomstgroup on Saturday nights. Access is free, no entrance fee.
